Gack

I had my first official *GAG* at a dirty diaper today. The dang thing was BLUE and soaked thru all his clothes. Both Ron and Samson thought this was VERY FUNNY! Yeah - well - Guess who's going to change the nasty ones from now on??....

i made a kick ass sign for over the salad bar at Wegmans today. It's simple upon first glance, but elegant and precise with longer study. HA! Below is a couple snaps from "The Frog Pond" that i did for the front door bakery case. They were selling cupcake frogs (read: would you like a little cupcake with your icing?) and i decided to do it up. The frog is from memory - he was the theme of one of my senior art projects in college. This was a fun display to work on and got a lot of compliments and sales! HEY! - i should get a raise!

Samson's Four Months Old!

Sam will be four months old on Thursday. He just had his 4 mo. check up at the docs yesterday. To my dismay and concern, he is underweight. He should be gaining 1 oz. a day and he's only gained 6 ozs. in 2 months. Doc said not to worry, we'll get him back on track starting immediately. She said, "lemme guess... Sam's a happy, easy going, laid back baby." I exclaimed "YES! Why?" She explained that chill babies don't 'complain' as much as others, and therefore when we feed him 4 oz. at a sitting, its just enough to take the hunger edge off, but he COULD eat more - he just won't let us know. He'll go back to cooing and laughing or taking a mild nap. I felt very bad at first, finding out his weight, but today, i feel better knowing that i'm being the best mom i can be. Sam's just like his daddy this way - Mr. "It's all good!"

The Giggler

Now i don't want to go out on a limb here, but I could SWEAR, the other night, i made Sam laugh ON PURPOSE at something i was doing. I'm sure i did. I had him spread out in my hands, lengthwise (hands holding his head and feet) and was jiggling my head in his tummy while making a ton of ridiculous noises and HE WAS LAUGHING!!!! I was so thrilled that he was responding to something i was doing to make him laugh that i kept doing it just to hear his wonderful little happy voice.

Snow Anyone?

Over the holidays, we got dumped with a decent amount of snow. Nothing TOO crazy, but just enough to make a good-sized snowman. Which my father and Ron did together. Not just ONE, but two, and BIG ONES. Taller than them (my dad is 6'2"). It was really good packin' snow, and the two of them were out there for a couple hours, making a "Mr." and a "Mrs." Snowman. I think they really had a good time. We haven't had a snowfall like that since - in fact, it's been a VERY MILD winter here in Western NY, but i guess i shouldn't complain. Just last night, we had white out conditions with the snow blowing horizontally - but that only lasted 20 min, then it was back to blue sky. It's weird like that around here.

ThE PeTs !!!

Perhaps some of you have been wondering how the pets are taking to Samson. Well, the short answer is "very well." By the photos I've included, maybe you can see just how much Mr. Beegsley loves Sam - he gives him kisses every chance he can sneek them. This just drives Ron's mom Shirley CRAZY, but it's worth the laugh. Might as well expose him at an early age to all the ALLERGENS floating around our house. The "upstairs cats" (that's what we call them because that is where they stay having "downstairs dogs") don't think too much of Sam. They sniff him, and Bebe rubs up against Sam's swinging arm for petting, but other than that, I don't think the cats even care there's a baby around. I was afraid of them sleeping (or worse, peeing) in his crib, but I don't think Bebe can jump that high, and Zap's shown little interest. Four pets and a baby - - now that will keep anyone on their toes!

Baby Milestones

A gazillion babies have done what i'm about to type, a gazillion times, but this is MY baby doing it for the FIRST time:

Sam laid on his tummy and lifted his head more than 45 degrees for more than 30 seconds.

YOU GO SAM! You're a wild man!!!

Sam's Growing!

(See "It's a BOY!" post below for Samson's first photos)

Samson just turned 2 months old a couple days ago! My goodness, dare i say time is already flying? I suppose not. He's getting to the fun stage now: lots of smiling and cooing, especially in the mornings. He doesn't so much like 'tummy time.' Maybe that's because its WORK to lift that gigantic head! :-)

Our Wedding Day - July 2, 2005

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
A big thank you to everyone that attended our wedding and made it quite literally one of the best, most fun days of our lives! It was wonderful seeing many of you that live far away from us, and Ron and I both enjoyed meeting each other's friends. The weather was amazing (duh!) and the band rocked hard! I think everyone should have a "wedding day" whether you actually marry or not, just to celebrate friendships, family and LIFE!

Click here to see a nice selection of wedding photos. You might be FAMOUS!

About our Family

We Image hosted by Photobucket.com reside in western New York. We've also got two dogs and two cats. The wee one is certainly keeping us on our toes (but not awake at night!), but we've still found time to do the things we like. Ron's newest project is working on building a treehouse in our backyard with wood from the local bar's discarded dance floor! Christine endeavors to catch up on various hobbies, including her wedding scrapbook album, as well as a new one for Sam. We both want to utilize our talents more: Ron making candles, and Christine doing SOMETHING from the myriad of right-brained things she's good at. Is there a pause button on time to get all this in?
